 | In collaboration with National Association of Community Health Centers
(“NACHC”) and New Jersey Primary Care Association, the attorneys
of Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP (“FTLF”) have developed a
two-hour online training program on the Board’s role in establishing
and overseeing corporate compliance programs. Section 330 implementing
regulations require a health center’s Board of Directors to ensure that
the health center is operated in compliance with all applicable
federal, state and local laws and regulations. Moreover, the Health
Reform Law mandates that providers implement corporate compliance
programs as a condition of enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP.
Accordingly, a health center's Board must take corporate compliance
very seriously.
The Department of Health and Human Services,
Office of Inspector General (“OIG”), working with the American Health
Lawyers Association (“AHLA”), has developed and publicized three
resources for health care entities’ Boards of Directors, which set
forth the OIG’s expectations regarding the Board’s oversight of its
organization’s compliance programs and quality of care and safety
initiatives. The Board’s important role in establishing and overseeing
the compliance program is rapidly becoming a “duty of care” obligation.
This
interactive webinar will outline the Board’s role in establishing and
overseeing corporate compliance programs, explore the benefits of a
health center corporate compliance program in today’s legal landscape,
and set forth the expectations placed on Board members related to the
health center’s compliance program, providing real-life examples of
“do’s” and “don’ts”.
Board members will be given an
opportunity to share some of their challenges in overseeing effective
compliance programs and the trainer will offer feedback and
recommendations. Participants will have the opportunity to ask the
presenter specific compliance questions.
Board members who attend this training will:
- Explore the benefits of a health center corporate compliance program in today’s legal landscape;
- Learn more about the Board’s role in establishing and overseeing corporate compliance programs;
- Share experiences and challenges in overseeing effective compliance programs; and
- Receive feedback and recommendations from an expert in the field.
Who Should Attend: Community Health Center Board Members
Cost: $350 before applicable discounts
We
recommend that each health center’s Board share a webinar registration
and gather to participate in the webinar together. Should the Board
not be able to come together, the health center may register for
additional lines at the discounted rate of $50 per line.
